Pros: Avalon is located in Korean Town, one of the best choice to stay especially during public holiday. A 7-11 near it. Love the location.
Cons: They don't previde free water in the room. No coffee machine. If you want to make a tea you have to go to the ground floor to the lounge.

Pros: Very nice staff, especially the doorman. So clean and cozy! The coffee and hot chocolate machine saved us on cold January mornings. Perfect central location. Interesting vibe being in Koreatown-lots of fun restaurants around.

Cons: Construction on buildings next door. The noise from those elevators right outside my window. Impossible to sleep in and since I was in town for work and working until 2 or 3am this was unfortunate.

Cons: Hotel room is seriously worn down, beds not high quality, linens had holes in them. TV's in awkward placement. Bathroom was clean but rest of room was not very clean. I would consider this a 1-1.5 star hotel. Not in any way a 4 star hotel

Pros: Our room had two queen beds and a separate living room area. It was so spacious and was more than expected from city rooms. The bathroom was very large with a separate stand in shower and a nice bathtub.
Cons: The elevators were slow and scary. When they stopped at a floor they bounced.

Pros: The hotel location is perfect for Midtown NY. Pretty much everything is within walking distance such as Penn station, Time Square, B&H Photo, etc. The room was very clean and charming. The staff was helpful. I will definitely come back to this hotel.

Pros: The only thing I liked about this hotel was the location.
Cons: We pulled the sheets down for bed in 803 there was dried blood on the duvet which clearly said the room wasn't clean. Going to report that to health officials. The manager offered to take $20 off the bill. Room 1103 temp could not reduce below 79

Pros: Helpful, friendly and pleasant staff. We are very impressed with the services we got.
Cons: The Housekeeping did not provide my face towels and soap a few times I had to ask. The staff brought them to me right away.

1st hotel stay in NYC
Pros: The computer/coffee/tea room and waiting library are a very nice and useful addition for hotel patrons.Holding our luggage for a few hours after our checkout was just what we needed to make the most of our short layover in NYC. Will look to stay there again.

Great value for money &...
Pros: Excellent value for money in a good location sort of close to Penn station. The size of the rooms are also very good withy generous sized bathrooms, albeit a little dated. We had a couple issue which front desk addressed immediately by sending up someone to help which was great to see.
Cons: The place is totally fine but with the excellent reviews we expected something a little less tired and dated. We would stay again based on price but not our first choice.

Excellent hotel in great location.
Pros: Very nice staff, really helpful. Tea/ coffee making facilities in reception area.
Great location, close to Empire State, Penn Station/Madison Square Garden and Broadway. Subway just round the corner. Not too noisy.

Pros: Rooms were spacious with two tv's and a couch and there was a full tub and separate shower.
Cons: The refrigerator did not chill things. Staff said it only keeps things room temperature. Weird. There was no microwave.

Pros: The bed was very comfortable and the room very clean. Location was excellent. Subways located nearby with many good facilities located within walking distance. Empire State one block away. Macys nearby.
Cons: No facility for tea or coffee within the room, however an excellent coffèe machine located in the foyer available 24 hours a day.

I would come again but...
Pros: The staff are wonderful people. Beds were clean, linens were spotless. the house keeping is topnotch. Beautiful lobby,elevators very efficient. Plenty of hot,soap,towels ect.
Cons: Didn't realize it was so close to Korea town.
Therefore the smells from the restaurant garbage was over whelming. Staying close to restaurants has its downfalls.
I would see about an rooftop garden or something.

Pros: What really made this is a great stay was the kindness shown us and trouble taken by the staff. On top of its great location and value (which was very good, by NYC hotel standards) this part of Korea town is a little bit quieter than, say, blocks closer to Broadway (though it's really close to the Empire State Building). Easy, too, to walk to from Penn Station where good connections to Newark airport save one a fortune in cab fares.

Pros: Location was good.
Cons: I woke up at 5:30 AM because I felt something on my finger. When I went into the bathroom to see what it was, it appeared to be a dead bug. To me it looked like a bed bug. I went right down to the front desk and they assured me it was not and that they have never had a bed bug problem. The called a company to come in and do a sweep and sent the me the results which were negative for bed bugs. Even if it wasn't a bed bug (which I think it was) it was pretty disappointing to woken up by this and have management brush you off. I was up the rest of the morning and did not want to be in the room or have my stuff there. Overall I was incredibly dissatisfied with our stay and we will not be returning.

Overall, a great stay!
Pros: Spacious suite room was substituted at check in- nice! Nice bathroom. Espresso machine in lobby. Great location. Would stay there again.
Cons: Construction noise next door. Thermostat kept defaulting back to 87*F after reaching our preferred temp. Rates a little pricey, but that's NYC, we suppose.
