Pros: Older Hotel, in really good location. Away from main tourist areas, at Manhattan end of Brooklyn Bridge, but only about 15 minute walk to 9/11 Memorial and new huge Westfield Mall. Really nice local bars and restaurants. Basic but ok breakfast.
Cons: Needs a bit of a renovation in some areas. Free standing Air Con in room, very noisy so sleep difficult, turn it off and then gets too hot. Mentioned to Staff after 1st night and told just due to being old Hotel. However, after 2nd night with no sleep, complained again and moved to a bigger room, with proper and quieter Air Con.

Pros: Staff, helpfulness, room 507, location.
Cons: Three things wrong with the room: • curtains in the bathroom are very faded and frayed • closet door does not shut • sliding drawer on which coffee pot sits hadn't been cleaned in ages

Pros: The Hotel rooms are really roomy by New York Standards and we were happy to discover that our room had a balcony which looked out over the lower East River and the Brooklyn Bridge.
Cons: The hotel could use a renovation to look a little bit less tired but we are very happy with the hotel even as it is!

Pros: Location!! Located right by the Brooklyn Brigde, easy access to anywhere, neighbourhood felt safe. The quadruple room was spacey for 4 adults and the beds were comfortable. We got a baby crib for free by asking on the reception upon arrival. The air conditioning worked well and the room was relatively quiet, although it was on the street side. The breakfast was rich and comprehensive for the price. The hotel also booked us a cab to the airport with a car seat for a baby, no problems there. Staff was always ready to help with whatever request we had. The value for money is good.
Cons: The elevator got stuck many times during our stay and despite ringing the alarm, no one came - eventually we managed to bang it to move again. We reported the problem to the reception and it seemed to be a consistent problem. Otherwise we had no complaints and were happy.

Pros: The location is fantastic--and very quiet for a New York hotel. It is within easy walking distance of many downtown sights: 9/11 Memorial, One World Observatory, Statue of Liberty, etc. The hotel itself is updated, comfortable and family friendly.
Cons: We didn't have any complaints.
