Great location, super clean, very...
Pros: We checked in at 5 pm on a Friday. We had reserved a room w/ two double beds, but they were sold out. We received a free upgrade to 2 adjoining king rooms.James at the front desk was patient and friendly beyond compare. Every time we had a question, the front desk staff was more than accomodating, especially Aaron-who took two of us from the lobby to the 6th floor to personally get ice at the bar, as the 3rd floor machine was not working properly.Staff had awesome suggesions for restaurants and gave fantstic directions. The view of the reflecting pool and Freedom Tower from our windows was absolutely beautiful. The immediate area surrounding the hotel is under construction (James said they are building condos), but the noise was not noticeable from the rooms and the hotel was east to find. We also liked the fact that without a key, taking the elevator up is not possible; we appreciated this safety measure! O'Hara's pub next door is fantastic, and the proximity to Wall Street, Freedom Tower, the Oculus, etc., is fantastic. It is also a mere 12-minute walk to the Brooklyn Bridge, and the subway is a four-minute walk. There is a direct train from Grand Central, so if you're navigating by subway you don't have to worry about changing trains.
Cons: I mean, I would have liked to full the ice bucket on the 3rd floor, but Will at the bar on floor 6 was more than happy to help us out!
