Just a Hotel
Pros: The welcome drink at happy hour was good. Thai restaurant adjacent. Train station close. The room was large.
Cons: Very expensive for short notice booking. No breakfast room. Small bathroom. Pokey little foyer to hotel. Dated fittings.

Good location, spacious room
Pros: I've been to NY dozens of times, but I usually stay with friends or family. This time I was traveling with a girlfriend so I wanted some privacy. It was my first time at a NY hotel, so I don't have much to compare with this in terms of value, but I felt satisfied. I paid $310 per night (including all taxes and fees), which isn't cheap, but I reads a lot of reviews of other NY hotels with similar prices complaining about tiny rooms and very tiny bathrooms. My Junior Suite was large and clean. Location is excellent.
Cons: We called for one of the fancy pillows from the "pillow menu", but the pillow that was delivered was exactly the same as the standard feather pillows already on our bed. I didn't choose this hotel for the pillow menu, so I don't really care, but why pretend to offer something that isn't really available?
