AAA Inspector Notes
This is a European-style property with a refined Modern Irish atmosphere. A beautiful Waterford crystal chandelier graces the lobby. Rooms are spacious, with many suites that are finely furnished. Popular with Irish business people visiting New York, the hotel hosts many dignitaries, including luminaries past and present who come in for the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on nearby Fifth Avenue. There is a very comfortable bar and restaurant attached, while prime department store shopping and some of the city's best restaurants are just a short walk away. Smoke free premises. 91 units. 16 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

Pros: The location of the hotel is excellent and the price for 5 nights was great value. The Staff are very professional, courteous and very helpful. The room was located on a nice quiet floor. The room size was larger then other hotels of similar prices and had a lovely sized bath room.
Cons: The room should have been great but there some furniture fixtures broken and there was an iron burn mark on the carpet. The heating was not working in the room during our whole stay for 5 nights in the hotel. The room was very cold and we did turn the air conditioning off during our whole stay as it had been suggested to us by a member of staff. Another explanation given by another member of the staff about the lack of heating in the room was that the heating was turned off by the hotel in the month of April for the summer months and they said that the weather was also getting a lot warmer. We were offered an extra blanket or a duvet for our room. We did accept the extra duvet for the bed. (Note: The issue of the heating is not made very clear on booking.com website).

Pros: We were upgraded to a suite which was great. Like the idea that there are 2 seperate rooms with 2 televisions or if someone wants to go to bed early so 1 can stay up. Great walk in shower. Room was clean, which is very important. Fairly quiet, did hear a bit of subway train noise but it wasn't onto of the hotel but after a while (later in the night) it was quieter
Cons: Room was well presented and inviting. Only problem was that when you went over to the window there was a lot of draught. This needs addressing as it spoilt the overall ambience and made the room a tad cold. The pillows are a bit uncomfortable. It would be nice to have one hollow fibre one and one down like one (not down as I am a vegetarian). It did affect my overall comfort sleeping due to it affected ting neck and back alignment.
