Pros: Hotel Wales is located in a lovely neighbourhood near Central Park and the museums, which is perfect. The complimentary coffee and tea bar is a good idea. The rooftop lookout was not five-star, but still lovely. You can order meals up to the rooftop, which is great for tourists like us!
Cons: We complained about a dripping shower. The lady at the reception called a maintenance worker, who in return did not report back to her after his work. So ultimately when we returned to the hotel, she was unable to tell us a) whether anyone had been in our room, b) whether the worker was able to stop the dripping, and c) whether we would be re-located into another room, which she promised us in case the dripping could not be stopped. We had to find out for ourselves. That's bad communication among the hotel staff.

Pros: Close to Central Park and reasonable walk to subway. Loved the shower (rainfall showerhead) with good water pressure, nice rooftop patio, 24 hour coffee lounge, overall ambiance was nice.
Cons: Air conditioning unit was right beside the bed and was annoying going off and on all night - it was very hot during our stay so I definitely appreciated having AC but I would have preferred if it was in the window at foot of bed instead of head.
