AAA Inspector Notes
Inspector Pick (Social Scene): A spectacular rooftop bar affords a chance to be in the middle of the action and above it all. Stylishly, contemporary - it's a destination in itself.
The décor here is distinct and sophisticated with custom furnishings that reference the building's history in the garment district. Rooms have good space, style and high ceilings. The gorgeous all-season rooftop lounge, which has a lively crowd of locals as well as hotel guests, offers spectacular views of the Empire State Building. There is a separate elevator and doorman in the lobby offering access to the rooftop. Guests can also enjoy a lively upscale bar, wine at check-in, pop-up shops at the adjacent in-house retail, and a happening retro-cool restaurant in the lobby level, where food and drink are definitely a big part of the scene. Live entertainment is available Monday through Saturday in the bar. Smoke free premises. 197 units. 13 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

Pros: Location is good - close to Midtown. Food in the restaurant was good. Liked the fitness room and equipment. Paintings looked nice. Nothing great. Overall, a 3-star hotel experience.
Cons: The room was very cramped - 2 beds in a room meant for 1 bed. (2nd bed cost $80 extra.) The bathroom door had no lock! Also, the bathroom door was of glass so that anyone in the room can see who is sitting in the toilet. Take it as a 3-Star hotel.

Great location close to Times Square and subway / Penn Station but also a quiet retreat in the big city. I enjoyed the retro feel and design, very pleasant and helpful staff
Pros: Stylish boutique offers warm, personalized service

Pros: Rooms were dare I say it ROOMY for NYC. Adequate storage space and closet space and bathroom was a decent size.
Cons: Thin walls, assuming our next door neighbor had to much fun at the Roof Top Bar and was throwing up the whole night, we had the pleasure of hearing every single thing for about 1-2 hours straight. Had to turn on the TV to muffle some of it out!

Pros: The overall room was very comfortable and clean. I liked the stylish, NY loft apartment feel. I loved the high ceilings and how the tall windows let in so much natural light. The overall hotel property follows suit with a similar stylish, clean design, and has a warm cozy feel to it. The ambiance is very relaxing. The hotel staff were extremely nice and helpful. The front desk personnel at both check in and check out were wonderful.
Cons: The couch in my room looked a little dirty. The shower door did not close properly, and so water would end up on the bathroom floor when I showered. I thought the mattress could have been firmer. When I laid down on it, I would kind of sink in.

Classy and accommodating hotel. Will...
Pros: Staff so helpful! I loved Johanka especially and Katya good too with texting support. I was greeted on check-in with wine, made me a dinner reservation, changed time twice with no complaints, reached out to see how I was enjoying my stay. Wonderful service! Bed was comfy and huge - thx for upgrade! Rooftop dining service and staff all delicious! So much fun for a staycation!
Cons: Really small detail but the room service in to go containers while environmentally friendly doesn’t match the classy aesthetic of the hotel. Should at least be served in a cart, not delivered in bags. If there’s a way to class this aspect up I would recommend as the prices aren’t cheap. Again it was the ONLY thing I thought didn’t match the Refinery “brand”. If there’s a way to be environmentally friendly and classy you’re all set!
