Location! Okay price.
Pros: Great location, walking distance to theaters and Times Square and access to tour stuff. Loads of nice and surprisingly reasonable food options. Clean. The fill-your-own water bag from the filtered water tap was great. Nice little bar of soap. Fast elevator response. Doorman got taxis promptly
Cons: The usual small room and tiny bathroom typical for NYC. No amenities, no in-room coffee (much less any breakfast) not even in lobby. Hallway ice machine didn't work any of the 3 days I was there. Long and slow lines for check-in and check-out. Travelers must take that into account. Extra $80 fee for internet use was demanded even when I explained I had no electronic device and would not be using any internet.

Pros: The location
Cons: The hotel room that I booked was supposed to be a city view. I was stuck in the corner facing two walls when I opened my windows. The sink in my bathroom was leaking and it took over an hour to get in contact with guest services.

Pros: Access to subway and dozens of restaurants within short walking distance.
Cons: Rooms are not big. It's on a very busy part of town, be prepared for crowds (we visited in August). I initially selected based on price per night shown on my screen, but there were "resort fees" of $25/night added just prior I was ready to pay online.

Pros: The hotel was amazing in terms of proximity to Broadway. It was also convenient to subway stops to get around the city easy.
Cons: There is a mandatory $25 fee per night to cover phone calls, gym use and wifi, however the wifi is inconsistent. Also there was mold all over the bathroom. The staff at the hotel were extremely understanding and waived the fee when we described our issues
