AAA Inspector Notes
Inspector Pick (Classification): Oh, how I love this part of New York City! This old favorite is near to the very best. Live like a true New Yorker at least once!
This appealing hotel is in a distinctive turn-of-the-20th-century building accented by carved red stone. Traditional rooms have a spacious upscale style. On site is a charming French-themed eatery. The appealing neighborhood excellently showcases a more residential side of the city with many great local restaurants. Central Park and some popular museums are only a short stroll away. A favorite for many visitors who know the city inside and out. Smoke free premises. 202 units. 13 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

Nice Hotel in a Terrific...
Pros: I loved the connection to the Nice Matín Restaurant. Wonderful food for both dinner and breakfast. The room was amazingly quiet for being on the second floor above the hotel entrance.
Cons: The 2 wall mounted reading lamps on the wall over the bed did not work. The only other lamp in the room was a small desk lamp and a harsh ceiling lamp which really gave the room a depressing quality. As I was only there for one short night, it didn't matter, but over a few days it would and I'm sure they would fix it.

Great location near Central Park,...
Pros: The bed was comfortable and the location was great! There was an Insomnia Cookies across the street, which was awesome for late night chocolate cravings. The rooms were clean and quiet. We did not try the hotel downstairs, but it looked nice. The train is just at the end of the street, making it easy to get to. It was nice to store the bags after we checked out.
Cons: The elevator broke down at one point. The front desk staff were not very friendly. The bathroom was nice but I wish they gave you more towels. The only ice machine is on the second floor, so you have to go there to get ice or use the vending machine. I do not recommend the pizza place across the street.
