Pros: room and service. staff were really kind, especially doorman! I really appreciate him.
Good to go always.
Pros: Bed, staff, location
Pros: The front desk staff, particularly Vanessa and Nermine were OUTSTANDING! As well as the housekeeping staff- the room was immaculately clean and beautiful-
I was rather high maintenance and had some special requests of everyone and ALL just were just SO charming, lovely and Professional!
The stay could not have been more delightful.
Also, ALL the room service staff were FABULOUS as was the food from Cafe Boulud-just perfection.
This is my new favorite hotel in NYC and I highly recommend it!
Cons: Just that I missed the rooftop bar:( Closed for season- but I'll be back!
Cons: This prestigious/pricey hotel charges for wifi in room which is of poorest quality. In the lobby wifi is free and totally functional. Had the charge withdrawn from bill.
A good hotel, but not...
Pros: Great location, close to the Met., Frick , Guggenheim and Neue museums
Cons: Thinks it's better than it is ...not always certain that things will work...
Relais et Chateaux must have...
Pros: The Location
Cons: The room was noisy and the curtains did not prevent light from coming in. The room was not worth the money. I do not mind paying a premium rate but only for a premium room.
Pros: Great upper east side location between 5th and Madison. Loved rooftop patio but it needs an espresso machine. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Cons: Didn't like the ambience in Baritone Boulud. Food was great but the staff and room were both extremely flat and unwelcoming.
Excellent location with great Roof...
Pros: The elegant room (incl. the professional cleaning service), the Roof Top Bar and the helpful and professional attitude of the door men/bell boys.
Cons: Apart from one guy at front desk and one female leader of staff in Café Boulod (breakfast), the rest was haughty with unacceptable attitude (Concierge) or just not interested, ignoring the guests, unable to produce a smile. I often felt I was disturbing them and keeping them away from s.th. more important.
Perfect base for our New...
Pros: Stayed at the Surrey for 3 nights for our wedding in Central Park. Overall an excellent experience, luxury facilities and perfect location on the upper east side. Roof garden was also a tranquil place to relax.
Cons: Only slight issue was we had booked our 3 night stay in two parts, initially booking two nights then adding a third. I had emailed ahead to inform the hotel and spoke to a member of staff at reception upon check in. despite this on the third day we returned to our room after being out for the morning with our cards deactivated and a member of housekeeping clearing the room. This was resolved once I went to reception in person.
