Classic. This was the first New York restaurant for famed chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. It continues, now years later, to offer a sophisticated but casual New York experience within a charming brownstone in the swankiest of neighborhoods. Serving mostly organic cuisine, the slow cooked salmon, baked cod and beef tenderloin are all unpretentious standouts. JoJo is a likable spot, and fittingly it was the famed chef’s nickname given to him by his mother as a young boy. Weekend brunch is available.
