AAA Inspector Notes
This place has a colorful history dating back to the repeal of prohibition. The dining room has been returned to its former glory with a classic, clubby décor that includes a large mural depicting Jazz Age legends. The menu offers upscale American cuisine with creative preparations of pork, duck, seafood and pastas. The bar remains a great spot for friends to meet over a drink while the famed monkeys look on from all corners of the room. The restaurant has a fun and sometimes odd history, and was the site of playwright Tennessee Williams accidental death from choking on an eye dropper cap.
