One of my favored spots on the Upper West Side for a charming breakfast, brunch, or candlelit dinner, this is Francophile hotel dining extraordinaire.
AAA Inspector Notes
This neighborhood gem near to The Museum of Natural History has long been known for its cheerful Provencal décor and comforting South of France styled menu. Choices include salad niçoise, grilled branzino with eggplant puree, confit de canard, grilled octopus, lamb shank a l’Italienne and a truffle-cheddar burger. Reminiscent of the fashionable eateries on Nice’s Grand Promenade des Anglais, floor-to-ceiling windows allow for splendid people watching at a timeless Upper West Side crossroads. There is seasonal outdoor dining, and it being a French restaurant, naturally there is an exceptionally good selection of wines and signature cocktails.
