AAA Inspector Notes
Inspector Pick (View): How wonderful it is to grab a drink and to watch the sun go down here over New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty.
Historic. This last remaining original Manhattan pier house has had a storied past, serving first as the marine police headquarters, then as the transit point for international VIPs sailing by ocean liner from New York Harbor. After closing for a quarter-century, the entire structure was renovated to its original shining glory. Now you can enjoy the ambience and the superb waterside setting for a casual drink and small seafood plates. The large patios are the downtown spot to watch the sun go down. Parking can be difficult in the Battery Park area. However, parking garages are available a walkable distance north. Public transit is probably the best option.
