AAA Editor Notes
Bennington Battlefield State Historic Site, 3 mi. e. on SR 67, is the site of one of the earliest decisive Colonial victories of the Revolutionary War. In 1777 Gen. John Stark and his New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts militia captured a British expeditionary force. An interpretive sign explains the course of the battle. A hilltop picnic area overlooks the battlefield.

Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
