Teatown Lake Reservation, w. off Taconic Pkwy. to SR 134, then 1 mi. w. to 1600 Spring Valley Rd., is an 1,000-acre nature preserve with 15 miles of trails and a nature center that presents changing exhibits and rotating educational programs relating to native mammals, birds, plants and geology. Live native birds of prey also are on view.
Guided tours of Wildflower Island, including a display of rare orchids, are available by appointment April through September.
