Sagamore Hill National Historic Site, 3 mi. e. via E. Main St. and Cove Neck Rd. to 20 Sagamore Hill Rd., was the home of President Theodore Roosevelt until his death in 1919. The house served as the “summer White House” during his administration. The 1885 house displays trophies, furniture and other memorabilia. The Old Orchard Museum offers audiovisual programs and exhibits relating to the political career and family life of President Roosevelt. A nature trail leads to the national wildlife refuge on Cold Spring Harbor.

Pets are permitted only on the grounds.
