The Thomas Halsey House, .5 mi. s. on S. Main St., is a restored two-story 1683 house that is deemed one of the oldest frame houses in Southampton. Built by one of the original settlers, Thomas Halsey, Jr., it contains 17th- and 18th-century furnishings and a Shinnecock Tribe exhibit. Behind the house is a Colonial herb garden. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
