Children's Museum of Science and Technology is at 250 Jordan Rd. in Rensselaer Technology Park. This hands-on museum has interactive exhibits relating to science, history, technology and the arts. Kids can learn about the Hudson River, forecast weather on a green screen, solve an engineering challenge and interact with the Magnetic Ball Wall. The museum also has an animal nursery with nearly 100 reptiles, birds and small mammals; kids can meet some during the Animals Live! presentation. Highlights at Play Space include Rigamajig and Imagination Playground. A half-mile, sign-posted nature trail runs through meadow, forest and stream habitats; a trail guide is available at the front desk. Workshops and events are offered throughout the year. Picnicking is permitted.

Hours: Mon.-Sat. 10-5, July-Aug.; Wed.-Sun. 10-5, rest of year. Closed major holidays. Allow 1 hour minimum.
