Rensselaer County Historical Society Museum, 57 Second St., is located in the heart of downtown Troy's Second Street Historic District. It features changing art and history exhibits and a research library with historical information about Rensselaer County. The historical society also offers 1-hour guided tours of the adjacent Hart-Cluett House, an 1827 marble-faced row house that is a fine example of late Federal architecture. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
Museum $5. Hart-Cluett House tour $10. Research library $7; $6 (senior citizens); $3 (ages 12-18); free (students with ID).
Hours: Museum and research library open Thurs.-Sat. noon-5, early Feb.-late Dec. Hart-Cluett House tours are available the second Sat. of the month at 2, Mar.-Nov. Closed major holidays. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
