Parrish Art Museum, 279 Montauk Hwy., has changing exhibitions of modern and contemporary art as well as a collection of American art from the 19th century to the present. The museum features works by American Impressionist William Merritt Chase and post-war American realist Fairfield Porter, works by contemporary artists such as Chuck Close, Keith Sonnier, Dan Flavin, Willem de Kooning, Lee Krasner, Roy Lichtenstein and Jackson Pollock. Food is available.
$12; $9 (ages 65+); free (ages 0-18 and students with ID).
Hours: Wed.-Mon. 10-5 (also Fri. 5-8 p.m.). Film screenings, concerts or lectures occur Fri. at 6 p.m. and family art workshops are held Sat.-Sun.; phone ahead for schedule. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Allow 1 hour minimum.
