Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site is at 29 Warburton Ave. This 17th-century residence of wealthy gristmill owner Frederick Philipse was the nucleus of a vast estate that eventually became the town of Yonkers. At one time it served as the city hall; today it is a museum of history, art and architecture.

Hours: Grounds open daily dawn-dusk. Manor Hall Tues.-Sat. noon-5, Apr.-Oct.; Tues.-Sat. noon-4, rest of year. Last admission to Manor Hall 30 minutes before closing. Closed major holidays. Allow 1 hour minimum.
