Beothuk Interpretation Centre, off Hwy. 340, following signs to the end of Boyd's Cove, is the former site of a 17th-century Beothuk community. Visitors can view a video presentation, dioramas and artifacts detailing the life of the Beothuk Indians. A 3-kilometre (1.8-mi.) hiking trail leads to the archeological site where the tribe lived from 1650 to 1720; interpretative signs along the way describe the natural area.
