North Atlantic Aviation Museum is at 135 Hwy. 1 near the tourist information center. Newfoundland and Labrador aviation history is showcased. Many displays pertain to World War II, including the Ferry Command Memorial. Visitors can enter a reconstructed DC-3 cockpit and inspect other fighter and bomber aircraft. A Lockheed Hudson Mk II is displayed. More than 2,900 were built, and only eight remain. Tours: Guided tours are available on request. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
$6; $5 (ages 6-15 and 65+); $16 (family, four people).
Hours: Daily 9-7, June-Aug.; Mon.-Fri. 9-5, rest of year. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
