Norstead—A Viking Village and Port of Trade is about 1.5 km (.9 mi.) e. off Hwy. 436, following signs. The site's features have been designed to represent the Viking era (790-1066). A church, blacksmith shop, chieftain's hall and barns are included; Snorri, a replica of a Viking ship, also is on the premises. Guides in period costume give interactive demonstrations, allowing visitors to get an idea of what life was like some 1,000 years ago.
