Mercantile Premises, on West St., overlooks the harbor and is perhaps the oldest wooden structure in the province. It used to serve as a counting house and merchant shop; the office area was built in the 1750s and Benjamin Lester built the shop in 1764. Artifacts from the fishing town are displayed throughout the building. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
(Includes admission to Hiscock House and Trinity Visitor Centre) $6; $4 (ages 60+ and students with ID); $3 (ages 6-16); $15 (family, maximum two adults and two children ages 6-16). Trinity Experience Pass includes admission to Green Family Forge, Hiscock House Provincial Historic Site, Lester-Garland House, Trinity Historical Society Museum and Trinity Visitor Centre for $20; free (ages 0-6). Cash only.
