AAA Inspector Notes
Lovingly restored, the inn sits in a residential area and offers the charm of a bygone era with the casual comforts of today. Most rooms have a separate living area with a small table and sofa bed. The hotel was once owned by Johnny Mercer's father, and one of Johnny's pianos is on display. Smoke free premises. 16 units, some efficiencies. 3 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

Pros: Decor is tasteful, very quiet neighborhood. No bustling busloads of tourists. A great place to relax and reflect. It's exactly what I wanted.
Cons: I was paranoid about disturbing the guests below me with the squeaky floors. Yet, I also understand that that's part of the charm of this historic building.

Pros: There were ceiling fans in all the rooms. They had great air conditioners. The wine they had was very good. Nice parking lot.
Cons: The first room we were given had a mattress that made you roll to the center. The pipes in the very small bathroom shook and woke us up. The floor boards creeked so much it woke us up. The floors were also significantly warped. We were expecting a traditional breakfast but ... We had three options 1) waffles with fruit compote (traditional) (I'm diabetic so not my choice). 2) a breakfast salad, odd, not really that good 3) granola. We went there based on the rave reviews on several sites.

Pros: Location was good for accessing all areas of the city and attractions. Loved the full breakfast each morning and the afternoon wine and hors d'oeuvres.
Cons: Mattress quality not up to expected standard. Could have been a little softer.
