Historic Bath State Historic Site is at 207 Carteret St. The oldest incorporated town in North Carolina, Bath was chartered in 1705. It was the colony's first official port of entry. When he was not plundering in the Caribbean, Blackbeard was a resident. Tickets for guided tours of the Bonner House and Palmer-Marsh House can be purchased at the visitor center. The Van Der Veer House and Exhibit Center can be explored on a self-guiding tours. A 15-minute video about Bath's history is shown throughout the day.
