“Horn In the West” is .5 mi. s. of US 421 at 591 Horn in the West Dr. This outdoor historical drama with a cast of 50 portrays the struggle of Daniel Boone and his men to establish freedom in the southern Appalachian highlands. Hickory Ridge Living History Museum contains a reconstructed log village typical of the 18th century. Costumed guides demonstrate the lifestyle of the region's early settlers. The Boone Heritage Festival is held in October. Inquire about weather policies. Guided tours are available. Food is available.
