Crabtree Falls is at Milepost 339.5. The 2.5-mile Crabtree Falls Trail begins from the parking lot of the visitor center and descends steeply nearly a mile through oak and hickory forest to beautiful Crabtree Falls. Tucked away in a forest glade, the falls splash down a 60-foot-high sloping rock face in a twinkling curtain of droplets.
Hikers can complete the loop by way of an easier but longer route that follows Crabtree Creek or return the shorter, steeper path back up the hillside.
Note: Crabtree Falls' public facilities, including a campground, picnic area and restrooms, are closed; however, trails are still accessible. Phone ahead for updates.
