AAA Inspector Notes
Rooms are spacious and well appointed at this rustic inn, and the quiet location on 10 acres promotes relaxation. This is a great spot to overnight when visiting the attractions of nearby Saxapahaw. Built in stages beginning more than 200 years ago, the main house once served as the living quarters for the headmasters of the eponymous boys' school. Now the charming guest rooms showcase period architectural details and vintage furnishings. Plump duvets adorn the beds. Some rooms have a gas fireplace, and a few have a jetted bathtub. If seeking reservations for same-day arrival, call the inn directly. The restaurants and activities of Chapel Hill, home of the University of North Carolina, are just a short drive to the east. The inn is adjacent to a 120-acre nature preserve which has two miles of walking trails.
Smoke free premises. 4 units. 2 stories (no elevator), exterior corridors.
