AAA Editor Notes
Historic Rosedale Plantation is at 3427 N. Tryon St. Built by merchant Archibald Frew in 1815, Rosedale is considered to be one of the state's finest examples of Federal architecture. The plantation home is noted for its original French wallpaper, faux grained woodwork and picturesque grounds with a boxwood garden, mature trees and reconstructed blacksmith shop. Guides focus on the lifestyles and arts of the 19th-century Catawba River Valley region.
