Mint Museum Uptown, 500 S. Tryon St. at the Levine Center for the Arts, showcases an impressive collection of American, modern and contemporary art, as well as a craft and design collection that includes studio jewelry and furniture and works in glass, fiber art, metal, clay and wood. The beautifully designed galleries feature a range of artistic styles from traditional to avant-garde. Food is available. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
(includes Mint Museum Randolph when visited on the same or next day) $12; $9 (ages 65+ and college students with ID); $6 (ages 5-17); free (ages 0-4 and to all Wed. 5-9). An additional fee may be charged for special exhibitions. Parking: with validation $1 per 30 minutes, weekday maximum $10, weekend maximum $5.
