Hanging Rock State Park is 4 mi. n.w. off SR 8. The 7,900-acre park offers rugged mountain terrain, sparkling streams, waterfalls and a lake. More than 300 species of mountain flora are found within the park. Camping is permitted and cabins are available year-round; reservations are required. Swimming and bathhouse facilities are open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Rock climbing is available by permit at Cook's and Moore's walls.
Pets on leash are allowed. Recreational activities are permitted. Camping is permitted. Picnicking is permitted.
