AAA Editor Notes
Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site (Connemara) is at 1800 Little River Rd. off I-26 exit 53, following signs. This was the house of the poet and historian from 1945 until his death in 1967. It displays a collection of some 10,000 books as well as personal notes. While Sandburg followed his muse, his wife managed a 240-acre goat farm that still operates. There are hiking trails on the grounds, and a bookstore contains exhibits and offers information on laser disk.
