AAA Inspector Notes
Classic. Since 1936, this cypress-wood shack perched on the river's edge has opened when the herring run along the river. Fried herring and roe are local delicacies around here, once enjoyed in abundance. Other offerings include flounder, rockfish, oysters and clams. Regulars know to order sunny-side up or cremated (well done so the bones almost melt away). Don't miss the freshly baked pies and the warm hospitality at this historic spot, the last of its kind.
