I love the history of this vintage motel, the cozy lobby with fireplace, and the wide verandas.
AAA Inspector Notes
The oldest continually operating motel in the Outer Banks—open since the 1940s—offers many charming, nostalgic features, including a welcoming veranda with white columns stocked with rocking chairs. The knotty pine paneled lobby with a brick hearth feels more like the living room of an old cottage. Its wide walkways are lined with Adirondack chairs to enjoy the sea breezes. Room sizes vary; some are large, but others are cozy. YMCA passes are available.
Smoke free premises. 54 units. 2 stories (no elevator), interior/exterior corridors.
