It’s not unusual to have to wait for a table at this breakfast diner, a Maggie Valley fixture since 1966, but go ahead and put your name on the wait list. The friendly, efficient staff keep the crowds moving quickly, and the delectable pancakes are so worth it. A half dozen varieties are offered, ranging from pecan, blueberry, and banana nut, to the chef’s special creations like cinnamon with cream cheese frosting or orange zest topped with blackberries and ricotta. Omelets, French toast, waffles, and meat-and-egg plates are also offered. Set a wake-up call so you don’t miss out: the diner closes at noon.
