Linn Cove Viaduct and Visitors Center is at Milepost 304.6, 5 mi. n.e. of Linville, N.C. Completed in 1983, the Linn Cove Viaduct is one of the most complicated concrete spans ever built. The quarter-mile bridge skirting the rugged perimeter of Grandfather Mountain was designed for minimal environmental impact. The visitors center exhibits a scale model of this engineering marvel. A hiking trail leads under the viaduct for closer inspection.
