A favorite stop for those on the way to the beach, Shaw's has served up Eastern North Carolina barbecue for more than 50 years. Pork is the specialty, served minced or pulled with a peppery vinegar sauce offered on the side. Southern favorites are served along with coleslaw, collard greens, yams, corn sticks, Brunswick stew and pies. Breakfast also is served; biscuits with country sausage or pork tenderloin are the stars.
