AAA Inspector Notes
Classic. Little has changed at this no-frills steakhouse since it opened in 1966, and that's exactly the way regulars like it. The friendly owner grills the perfect rib-eye steak, which is all that is served. There is no menu. The steak is presented raw tableside and starts at an 8-ounce cut, but they'll cut it as big as you want right before your eyes. Accompaniments include a tossed salad bar, baked potato and bread, and baked sweet onions are optional. If you arrive when they open at 5 p.m., you stand a good chance of being seated right away. Later arrivals turn the parking lot into a tailgating party while they wait for a table.
