Roger Maris Baseball Museum, in the West Acres Shopping Center at 3902 13th Ave. S., commemorates the career of the New York Yankee and former Fargo resident. Maris achieved baseball immortality by hitting 61 home runs in the 1961 season, breaking Babe Ruth's 1927 record of 60. The museum features photographs, memorabilia, a replica of his Yankees locker and two MVP awards. Visitors can watch a film highlighting Maris' career while sitting in Yankee Stadium seats from the period.
