Fort Ransom State Park is 2 miles n. at 5981 Walt Hjelle Pkwy., in a remote section of the scenic Sheyenne River Valley. Recreational activities and facilities include horse trails, canoeing, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and modern and primitive camping. Canoe and kayak rentals are available. The visitor center has exhibits about area settlement. Also at the park is the Sunne Demonstration Farm. Campfire and amphitheater programs are offered in summer and fall.
Pet friendly (call for restrictions/fees.). Recreational activities are permitted. Camping is permitted. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
