National Buffalo Museum is off I-94 exit 258 at 500 17th St. S.E., just s. of Frontier Village. The museum is devoted to the cultural and natural history of bison and the prairie. Inside are historical displays, artwork, Native American and frontier-era artifacts, a period gun collection and a display about uses for buffalo. Visitors can view a herd of buffalo—including two albino members—from the outdoor observation deck. Temporary traveling exhibits also are presented.
