Whitestone Hill State Historic Site is 11 mi. s. on SR 56, 4 mi. e. on CR 3, then 2 mi. n. on a gravel road, following signs. This was the site of a battle fought between the Plains Sioux and the U.S. Army. A path passes a statue of a bugler surrounded by the graves of soldiers and a monument to the Native Americans who died in battle. Primitive campsites and a small museum are on-site.
Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
