AAA Editor Notes
Custer House-Cavalry Square, 7 mi. s. on SR 1806 in Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park, is a reconstruction of the fort's commanding officer's quarters. It was occupied by George Armstrong Custer and his wife, Elizabeth “Libbie” Bacon Custer, from 1873 to 1876. It was from this home that Custer set out for the Battle of the Little Bighorn, in which he and 261 of his troops died.
