Medora Musical is off I-94 exits 24 or 27, then 1.5 mi. s.w., following signs to 195 3rd Ave. Staged in the Burning Hills Amphitheater overlooking the Badlands, this variety show is a blend of Western and patriotic themes set to foot-stompin' music and rousing song and dance numbers. A gospel tribute salutes Theodore Roosevelt, who as a young man owned a ranch in the Medora area. Enjoy a rib-eye steak—speared on a pitchfork and cooked over an open fire—with all the fixings at the Pitchfork Steak Fondue. The Western-style feast is served atop a bluff offering panoramic Badlands views. Guided 40-minute “Behind the Scenes” tours recount the amphitheater's history and offer a peek at what it takes to put the musical together. Inquire about refund and weather policies. Guided tours are available.
