Inverness Miners Museum is at 62 Lower Railway St in the former train depot. Exhibits and artifacts in eight rooms focus on the city's pioneering, coal mining and railroad history. An extensive fossil collection and coal pit model also are featured. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
$5; $3 (ages 60+ and students with ID); free (ages 0-12). Cash only.
Hours: Mon.-Sat. 9-5, Sun. 9-6, July-Aug.; Mon.-Fri. 9-5, Sat.-Sun. noon-5, in June.
