Burntcoat Head Park and Interpretive Centre is 5 km (3 mi.) n. of jct. hwys. 215 and 354 at 611 Burntcoat Rd. The 1.2-hectare (3-acre) park overlooks the Bay of Fundy. What is thought to be the world's highest recorded tide—16 metres (52.6 feet)—was observed here in 1960. A wooden lighthouse containing history displays is open in summer. Walking trails lead to the rocky shore and offer scenic views of Cobequid Bay. Video presentations allow for viewing of the tides and area history.
