Shelburne County Museum is at Dock St. and Maiden Ln. The museum houses a 1740 fire engine, said to be the oldest in Canada. Maritime and shipbuilding artifacts also are displayed. Permanent and changing exhibits depict the history of the county. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
$4; $3 (ages 65+); free (ages 0-16). Combination admission with the J.C. Williams Dory Shop Museum and Ross-Thomson House Museum $10; free (ages 0-16).
Hours: Daily 9:30-5:30, June 1-Oct. 15; Tues.-Sat. 9-5, rest of year.
